Yoga and Movement Classes in the Loft — Renovation Progress
It's finished! Well, there are always little bits to finish up even after it's done, but classes have begun. I hope that you'll join me and experience the beauty of this magical space.

The floor is going in this week! Aubrey is back and installing. I'm planning the class schedule and am thinking classes will begin Jan 16.
A beautiful maple panel is going to cover the heated floor underneath. Yes, heated flooring. No more cold savasana. I'm posting more pictures to assure you that work continues. It's slow-going with this stuff. The ceiling being all angles and joints means it's a lot of labour intensive plastering. Every joint, every corner, it all needs to be finessed with tape and cement. I'm really glad it's not me having to do it, and I'm incredibly grateful to my wonderful husband who painstakingly works away at it day after day.
I asked him the other day if it would be finished by Christmas (held my breath for the answer) and he said, "Probably." That means that I could start teaching up there mid-January, after the holidays, and after I've finished a course the second week of January. I might even do a couple of special classes before then to christen the space. If you are interested in hearing more, subscribe to the newsletter. I will certainly be announcing the opening there. Or, follow me on Instagram or Facebook. I'm really looking forward to welcoming people into this lovely space. |
Renovation Update: August 14, 2022
The stairs are being fitted! Well, the framework for them to start with. It took a long time to come up with the design for the stairs, to source the materials, to find someone to do the drawings so that the city would give us the stamp of approval. Our extraordinary builder, Aubrey Blaker, has crafted this steel frame to hold the wooden steps and platform that will be installed on them. If you are in south-eastern New Brunswick, and are renovating, you want to hire Aubrey. Besides being a lovely person to have in our home everyday, he's skilled in many areas of building, and always has creative ideas and solutions. He's also always looking for ways to save us money.
With the scaffolding out of the stairwell, you can start to get a sense of the space. And you can see the wires hanging from the ceiling where the pendant lights will hang. |

Renovation Update: June, 2022
When I first stepped into what would become my new home, I knew that the attic was a special place. It's coming up on 3 years since that day, and we're finally getting to the end of the massive renovation that we undertook to transform this space, which means that Yoga Classes will be coming soon to my new neighbourhood of Halls Creek in Moncton, NB. I promise that all of the ladders will be gone, and there will be stairs up to this magical space before we begin.
