Second Breakfast
Fall has arrived. The change of season has brought with it changes in our energies. According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this season is ruled by the lung and large intestine meridians. This pair of organs is responsible for clearing that which our bodies no longer needs, and so it is with our energies now—it's time to let go of the things with which we are finished. The leaves, which once turned sunlight into food for the trees, were necessary to sustain life, are changing colour, and are falling to the ground. Each time we come to our mats we exhale that which does not serve us, but perhaps we could take some time this fall to look our lives and let go of some things that we no longer need, maybe even things that once sustained us. Take a deep inhale, and with a brave heart, let it go.
