Here are some upcoming yoga teacher trainings (YTTs) in which I will be teaching.
THE BRANCHES (formerly Queen Street Yoga)
Jennifer has been teaching in The Branches' 250hYTT program in Kitchener, ON for the past few years in person. Next year she'll be there at The Branches via the internet. Leena, Emma, and their impressive guest teacher list lead a fantastic program that just gets better each year. The program is available both in-person and virtually.
Applications are open for the 2022/23 YTT.
Many of the modules, including this one, will also be available as continuing education.
Rethinking the Breath: Functional Breathing & Pranayama
Continuing Ed Module
Thurs Jan 26, 7–9pm ET — Live Workshop
$95 Regular Rate (PWYW $65)
Many yoga teachers were taught to instruct their students to “breathe deeply”, “let out a big sigh”, to breathe together as a group, and lead pranayama techniques. These breathing instructions may need more consideration, especially for students with underlying breathing issues such as asthma. This module will help you re-understand your breath and integrate science-based and trauma-informed approaches into your yogic breath practices. You will learn game-changing techniques to enhance and conserve your own energy while you teach, and use your breath more effectively as you speak.
Jennifer Snowdon is a trauma-informed Buteyko Educator and yoga teacher, and her sessions will challenge you to reconsider everything you know about breathing through the lenses of culture, physiology and yoga history.
3 hours of pre-recorded content and 2 hours of live workshop time.
Access recordings and support materials for one year.
If you are ready to unlearn most of what you think you know about breathing, and learn how to breathe better, we highly recommend Jennifer's webinars or IRL trainings" – Queen Street Yoga
Union Yoga & Wellness in Toronto will be running their 225h YTT online program again starting autumn 2022. It's divided into two parts. PART ONE: Theory and Applied Foundations, and PART TWO: Experiential and Embodiment. This is a wonderful program that I'm excited to be joining.
Registration is now open.
